Bob

Bob Trimble, the lead subject of the film, was born in Troy, Ohio on July 11, 1944.  After being drafted in 1965, he served in the US Army thru July 1970.  Bob was an Infantry Captain and served with B Company, 5th Battalion, 7th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division from July 1967 until February 1968.  He also served on the General’s Staff of the 173rd Airborne Brigade (Separate) from July 1969 until July 1970.  Bob has a Master’s Degree in Psychology and is currently working as a therapist in Santa Barbara, California,

where he supervises the drug and alcohol program for the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.  He took a new guy, called a “FNG”, on the run in 2001, and is currently recruiting FNGs for next year’s run.

Dennis

Dennis L. Trimble (Bob’s brother), born in December 1945, served in the US Army as a Specialist 5th Class (E-5) from August 1966 to September 1967.  Dennis was a Special Forces trained medic and served in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, and at the US Army Kennedy Space Center in 1968.  Dennis earned a Masters Degree in Health Education and is now a Senior Human Services Program Manager living in Gainesville, Florida.  He looks forward to the run every year.

JR

James R. Franklin, born in Pittsfield, Illinois, in April 1947, served in the US Army from May 1966 to March 1968.  James was a Staff Sergeant (E-6) in the B Company, 4th Battalion, 47th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division (Mobile Riverine Force) and served in Vietnam in 1967.  He is now a Veterans Advocate, assisting veterans to get into the VA system.  “JR” worked to get a bill past in the Kansas State Senate for Veterans license plates on motorcycles, and works on an advisory committee for a Kansas Congressman.

Ed

Ed “Fingers” Gohn was born in Buffalo, New York on July 30, 1948.  Ed served in the US Navy as an AT 2 with VA 195, on the USS Oriskany and USS Kittyhawk.  He was with the Navy from July 1965 to December 1971, when he medically retired.  Ed is now working as an Aerospace Manager and SCUBA Instructor.  He continues to ride in the Run For The Wall yearly, and passes the experience on to others.

Jim

Jim “Jungle Jim” Grainger was born in Sacramento, California.  He served in the US Army as Staff Sergeant (E-6), from 1966 to 1969 in the A Company, 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division.  He has retired and recently met the “love of his life”, and is now married to Kathryn Grainger. He enjoys volunteering for various organizations in the Tucson area. He is also starting a Tucson Arizona chapter of “Pointman Ministries” an organization dedicated to the healing of veterans.  He is currently recruiting new guys to take on the run and pass on what was given to him.
